in addition to other life choices, and many give up. but a lot of life togive up in order to better choices. you this time, the face of the universityare beckoning to you, you can choose not to give up. can also say: you give up alot ……

the last choice, because your young, largely by your parents or relativesto help you to make choices. then the choice of their ability to help so you cancreate conditions to help you (for example, taking your difference, they cangive you the money you read choosing health). entrance options, but this largelydepends on yourself decide the. because: first, the difficulty of the selectionbigger, some parents and relatives also lack guidance capability; second is thechoice of policy, a more equitable, they may have money, but you also can notscore enough money to help you. so many choices in this and future autonomy ofthe major is in your own hands. from

change the world? change ourselves

good evening, honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen.

it’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—change the world, change ourselves.

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular dayby day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. notlong before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversityannounced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because theyregard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals andculture.

frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with them.indeed, we should neverneglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brillianthistory and splendid traditions. (examples).but why can’t we absorb themeaningful western holidays and culture.

there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular inchina. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t haveare reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. onthe other hand, the prevalence of globalization enables western culture toprevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend, chinese unconsiciously getinvolved in western holidays and culture.

with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communicationbetween different countries and nations becomes faster and more and moreimportant. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of thesame world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealthof everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional cultureis to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought todo is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure oursplendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating canwe set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can wepreserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

at last i’d like to share a famouse saying of gandhi with all of you ,thatis:if you want to change the world, then you must change yourself first.”

篇三:英语演讲稿参考范文

Let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to most, if notall, of those present here today.

"Mum, I'm sorry, but I need 3,000 yuan for my tuition this year."

"Mum, it is my friend's birthday tomorrow, I must buy her a present."

"Mum, this jacket was out of fashion long ago, would you do me a favor?"

Take. Take. Take. The relationship between a mother and a child alwaysseems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is always there for me,providing me with everything I need; from food to clothing, from tuition topocket money. I never thought twice about all she did until one day she said,"Will there be a time that you'll say you have taken enough from me? "

Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history, have beencontinually demanding what we desire from nature. We enjoy the comfort andbeauty of our furniture, yet we never bother to think about the serious soilerosion caused by deforestation. We take it for granted that we must warmourselves in winter times, yet we seldom realize the burning away of preciousnatural resources. We appreciate all the prosperity from the development ofmodern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration to the globalair and water pollution caused by industrial wastes. Our ruthless exploitationhas permanently impaired our mother earth. As we tragically learned from lastsummer's floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.

Finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot helpthinking of our posterity. Nature is not only the mother of the presentgeneration, but also the mother of the generations to come.

How severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barrenand lifeless mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them aworld of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for nature fromnow on. Let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial relationshipbetween people and nature right from this moment. With this new start, I firmlybelieve, that our children, and our children's children will live in a brand newage of green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even morepromising world!

篇四:英语演讲稿参考范文

good morning ladies and gentlemen:

the title of my speech today is “the doors that are open to us ”。

the other day my aunt paid me a visit. she was overjoyed. “i got thehighest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. don't be surprised! my auntis indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.

last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year,full-time management course in a college. “this was the wisest decision i haveever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. to her, college is always aright place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.

“compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have manydoors.” my aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 whencollege doors began to be re-opened after the cultural revolution. she wasassigned to study engineering despite her desire to study chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a tv factory.

i was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in hermajor and job. look at us today! so many doors are open to us! i believe therehave never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we havetoday. and my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all theseopportunities.

the first door i see is the opportunity to study different kinds ofsubjects that interest us. my aunt said she was happy to study management, butshe was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient chinese poetry andon shakespearean drama. as for myself, i am an english major, but i may also goto lectures on history. to me, if college education in the past emphasizedspecialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of eachindividual. so all the fine achievements of human civilization are open tous.

the second door is the door to the outside world. learning goes beyondclassrooms and national boundaries. my aunt remembers her previous college daysas monotonous and even calls her generation “frogs in a well.” but today, as theworld becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we beopen-minded to learn with and from each other. i have many fellow internationalclassmates, and i am applying to an exchange program with a university abroad.as for my aunt, she is planning to get an mba degree in the united kingdom whereher daughter, my cousin, is now doing her master's degree in biochemistry. weare now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, we'llput to use what we have learnt abroad.

the third door is the door to lifelong learning. as new ideas appear allthe time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age.naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. many of my aunt's contemporariessay that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. she simplyresponds, “age doesn't matter. what matters is your attitude. you may think it'sstrange that i am still going to college, but i don't think i'm too old tolearn.” yes, she is right. since the government removed the age limit forcollege admissions in _, there are already some untraditional students, sittingwith us in the same classrooms. like these people, my aunt is old but she isvery young in spirit. with her incredible energy and determination, she embodiesboth tradition and modernity.

the doors open to us also pose challenges. for instance, we are faced withthe challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our finetradition while learning from the west, and the challenge of learningcontinuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. so,each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the supportof my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, i believe i can meet the challengehead on. when i reach my aunt's age, i can be proud to say that i have walkedthrough dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through manymore. possibly i will go back to college, too.

thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

篇五:英语演讲稿参考范文

When I was seven, I started learning English. I played games and sangEnglish songs with other children. Sometimes, I watched English cartoons. It'sfunny. Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dreamin the English world.

I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America tovisit Washington, because my cousin is over there. Of course, I want to go toLondon too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ridemy bike in Cambridge University, I will be very happy.

I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. Also I'll introduceChina to them, such as the Great Wall, and the gardens in Suzhou. I willteaching people of the world about the beautiful language of our country.

I like the English language. To learn English is wonderful. I once wantedto be an English teacher . I also like Chinese literature. When I was reallyyoung, I was able to remember lots of poems. I also wanted to be a teacher ofChinese. Now I think that both of my dreams can come true: I will be able to useEnglish to teach foreign friends Chinese and share Chinese culture with them. Sothat more and more people will be able to get to know the 5000 years' historyculture, and the prosperity of our great China.

My future is not a dream.
